Cinthia Varkevisser: Hi, we're Cinthia Varkevisser and Michelle Walters, co-hosts of Mind Power Meets Mystic.

Michelle Walters: Our weekly show is here to expand your mind to what's possible, to uplift your spirits to move forward with confidence and joy, and to create a space for your collaboration with the invisible. Welcome to Mind Power Meets Mystic.

Michelle Walters: Welcome, everyone, to a very special episode of Mind Power Meets Mystic. I am Michelle Walters, joined by my podcast co-host Cinthia Varkevisser. And we are going to talk about an interesting topic today: choosing a healer. The first part is how to find them, and the second part is how to vet them to make sure they're a good fit for you. So we thought we would have a little fun with this, starting with the big picture and working our way down to the most important things.

Michelle Walters: Part one. And the question I have for you, Cinthia, is in finding a healer, where is choice number four of where you would go to find a healer?

So I'm going to pretend it's:

Michelle Walters: Number four for me would be books as well. I don't know that author you mentioned, but one of the books I remember reading way back when, kind of when this field was interesting to me but pre-internet, would have been Louise Hay's "How to Heal Yourself." Books are still out there. I wrote a book; we both have books coming along. And books are a great way of finding a healer. There's just a different way of searching for books now in terms of how books can help you find somebody you might want to work with. So, yes, we are healers giving recommendations about how to find other healers, but it comes up for me all the time. I have clients come to see me, and their massage person retired—do I know someone? That kind of thing.

Michelle Walters: Cinthia, do you have a next recommendation after books?

Cinthia Varkevisser: Huge fan of social media. I'm not a huge fan of doing social media because it takes so much work, but I love social media. Tyler Henry, for example, I got to know him through his TV show and word of mouth, but he got super popular with social media. There's another person, Michael something or other, he's the Seatbelt Psychic. Have you heard of him?

Michelle Walters: I think he had a show on Netflix. I saw a few episodes, and I saw a few episodes of Tyler Henry too.

Cinthia Varkevisser: Right, still on social media, love seeing people doing their readings on social media. But more fun is listening to people's points of view, so I get to hear where they're coming from, get to know them and their style more as they start putting out their stuff through social media.

Michelle Walters: And I think we could call podcasting a form of social media as well. It doesn't happen often, but I have gotten new clients from social media and podcasting. It's another way to find healing people.

Cinthia Varkevisser: Right, it's nice because you get to know that if you're going to pick Cinthia, expect a couple of F-bombs and well-placed swear words. With you, they know there's going to be cheerleader quality and that it’s going to be very gentle. One of my clients sat down in front of me and said, "Okay, I need to get my ass kicked," because they knew that’s what they were going to get. If that’s what you’re looking for, social media lets you know who you're going to get or gives you a better idea. You don’t need to make that discovery call.

Michelle Walters: Okay, so number four was books, number three was social media. What is number two?

Cinthia Varkevisser: For me, it's speaking engagements and classes. I love when friends of mine say, "Hey, I'm going to this class, you want to check it out?" Or something comes across from social media that turns into a fun class where there's some kind of buzz. I love that. Listening to someone speak and hearing them answering my questions while they’re speaking feels like they’ve got a lot of authority and know what they're talking about. Do you like classes and speeches?

Michelle Walters: I like classes and speeches because I’m a huge learner. Meeting people this way, when they get to talk about their passion or teach you something they’ve learned or believe will be helpful, I love that. Speeches and classes are an outstanding way to meet a new healer.

Cinthia Varkevisser: The thing I also like about classes is there are different points of view you can come across. To see their point of view of how they do things is refreshing. Sometimes it doesn't feel inspired, and then I don’t know if they’re having a bad day, but if they’re not inspiring me, I don't want to move further on. It’s another way to see if I vibe with somebody.

Michelle Walters: Yeah, I agree. Sometimes it’s seeing energy that you’re like, "Yes, that's the right thing," or "Huh, I don't think so." What is the best way, in your view, to match up with a potential healer?

Cinthia Varkevisser: We love word of mouth, referrals. When people are excited about a healing they got from somebody else, I check to see where they are on their spiritual path as they hand out their accolades. That’s for the second part of the show. For now, any kind of referral where you get to hear from someone who actually went through it, got the results, found out what their transformation was, how long it took, how they were cared for—that's the whole enchilada.

Michelle Walters: I love getting clients from referrals. It’s like they show up at the door, and the welcome mat is already there for them. They’re ready to go, have an idea of what to expect, and ask the right questions. Referrals are gold in terms of finding new clients.

Cinthia Varkevisser: I love giving referrals. The channeled message I live by is if Krishna, Jesus, and Buddha are not for everybody, why the hell do I think I am? When there's not a match, nothing makes me happier than helping that person find a match so they get relief, healing, and someone I trust is doing the work. To me, that’s a perfect world.

Michelle Walters: Let’s remind all our listeners that they are listening to Mind Power Meets Mystic with me, Michelle Walters, and Cinthia Varkevisser, our mystic. Please take a moment to rate or review our show or think about who you know who should hear this, who might need a little help figuring this out and knowing how to find a healer. Part two of this will be how to vet a healer, to ensure they’re the right person for you. We’d appreciate sharing this episode, liking it, rating it, and following us on social media.

Cinthia Varkevisser: It’s my turn to ask you first. We have six ways to vet your healer. This is how to vet anybody, really. Healing is sacred, personal, and we want to ensure you find the right person for you. Number six is to believe in the field. What would you like to say about that, Michelle?

Michelle Walters: I think it's really important that if you’re choosing a healer, you choose someone whose method you believe in because if you don't, it probably won't work. Cinthia, you want to talk about your experience with Reiki?

Cinthia Varkevisser: Yeah, I wasn’t ready for Reiki. I thought it was a bunch of hoo-ha, which is rude in the healing field to discount a modality. But I came from energetic healing through martial arts and my mystic program. When I heard about Reiki, I thought I already had this stuff. Then I met a Reiki Master, Bridget Somogyi, who’s been on this show, an amazing healer from Long Island. The healing began before I even got on the table. I felt a lot of relief, solutions popped into my mind, and when I got off the table, I thought Reiki is magic. Reiki is fantastic. However, some people do more than one modality and mix them, which is fine, but for me, if you want the benefit, find someone who only does Reiki or a specific field.

Michelle Walters: Right, you have to choose something you think is going to work. Okay, number six was believing in the field. Number five is matching energetically, meaning you speak each other’s language and get each other. We’re designed not to get along with everyone. Finding someone who you fit with is so important, especially when you’re feeling vulnerable or receiving a healing. Cinthia, have you had any great or not-so-great matches?

aid, dressed like a hippie in:

Michelle Walters: Yes, I have a story about a not-so-great match. I went to a life coach because I was interested in exploring life coaching as a career. I sat in her office, and she asked what I wanted to work on. I told her, but she didn’t take notes. She didn't ask anything that made me think she was hearing or understanding me. So it’s really important to find someone who matches your energy.

Cinthia Varkevisser: You’re listening to Mind Power Meets Mystic, a weekly show where we encourage you to expand your mind, uplift your spirits, and work with the invisible. We're happy you're listening, and we'd love for you to rate, review, and follow us. Let’s continue with vetting your healer. What’s number four?

Michelle Walters: Four is verifying their expertise. Ensure your healer has the training, experience, and credentials in the modality they practice. This includes certifications, years of practice, and genuine testimonials.

Cinthia Varkevisser: Absolutely. I love knowing that my healer is experienced and has the proper credentials. How do you vet expertise, Michelle?

Michelle Walters: I look for their education, certification, and years of experience. I also check for testimonials and word of mouth. But the most important thing is seeing how they handle the first session, asking questions to understand their approach and feel confident in their abilities.

Cinthia Varkevisser: That’s really important. Expertise ensures the healer knows what they're doing, making the process more effective and safe.

Michelle Walters: Number three is checking their reviews and testimonials. What do you think about that?

Cinthia Varkevisser: I love hearing from other people. Reading reviews and testimonials gives insight into the healer’s impact, how they treat clients, and what results you might expect.

Michelle Walters: Yes, reviews are important because they offer real experiences from other clients. A consistent positive review pattern is a good sign.

Cinthia Varkevisser: Number two is interviewing them. Why is that important, Michelle?

Michelle Walters: Interviewing your healer lets you ask questions, understand their approach, and feel their energy. It’s a chance to see if you connect and feel comfortable with them.

Cinthia Varkevisser: Yes, interviews are essential. It’s your time to ensure they’re the right fit, and you feel safe and understood.

Michelle Walters: Number one is trusting your intuition. What’s your take on that, Cinthia?

Cinthia Varkevisser: Trusting your intuition is crucial. Your inner voice often knows if someone is right for you. If it feels off, it probably is.

Michelle Walters: Absolutely, intuition is a powerful tool in choosing a healer. Listen to your gut feelings and inner guidance.

Cinthia Varkevisser: Thank you for joining us on Mind Power Meets Mystic. We hope this episode helps you find and vet the perfect healer for you. Don’t forget to rate, review, and follow us for more insights and inspiration.

Michelle Walters: Have a great week, everyone. See you next time!
